Celsius Amtec purchases 6 DC9-51

Celsius Amtec Corporation of Miami (USA), has executed, at the end of December 1998, a purchase agreement for the six DC9-51 of Meridiana. The transaction has been coordinated by G & G AVIATION of Rome , which represents Celsius Amtec in Italy.

As known, Amtec was previously actively dealing with Aircraft Engines and Engines Spare Parts and in March 1998, becoming part of the Celsius Group, has increased its activity to the trading of commercial Aircraft. The Celsius Group based in Sweden, is active in the Military, Defense, Commercial Aviation and High Technologies, with annual sales of approximately 12 billion SEK , and about 11.000 employees all around the world.

The first DC9 has already been delivered at the end of December last, while the remaining five units will be delivered within the summer 1999. The package also includes 3 JT8D-17 spare engines and the complete lot of spare parts relevant to the six aircraft.

For the first two aircraft Celsius Amtec has already entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Hawaiian Airlines while the rest of the fleet shall be remarketed, also with the assistance of G & G Aviation, either through long term dry leases, or straight sales.

Confirming its motto, "A single solution for all the airline's needs" , G & G Aviation, had already managed, on behalf of Celsius Amtec, during 1998, a long term dry lease, for two spare engines to Meridiana , to cover the needs arising from the increasing of MD80's fleet of the Sardinian airline.
