A single solution for all the airline's needs
Safer baggage and cargo
Theft, damage or vandalism to passenger baggage and to
cargo in transit are becoming an increasing concern for airlines both as a
matter of company image and direct
costs for refunds or insurance.
To track and prevent such occurences G&G Aviation
now proposes the CargoVu system, manufactured by AD Aerospace, that it represents in Italy and Malta.
The
CargoVu is part
of the larger FlightVu range of products which also includes the Cockpit Door
Monitoring System.
Using covert pinhole lensed video
cameras within the cargo hold of a passenger or cargo carrying airliner, the
system is designed to detect and
record any activity whenever Cargo Doors are open or the proprietary Video
Motion Detection algorithm shows movement in the cargo bay.
The system can also detect the shifting of cargo
during flight and automatically alert the flight crew who can make an
assessment of any resultant
changes in weight distribution.
The
cameras are linked to a digital video recorder, with a removable hard drive
that can record over 24 hours of operation from 8 cameras, allowing footage
taken over several legs, in distant airports, to be analysed at main base using any Ethernet
connected PC based browser.
Thanks to a Unique
“watermarking” technology the footage is accepted as courtroom evidence.
The
CargoVu is approved for installation on the A320 family as well as the B757 as
an EASA Minor Modification, and available for retro fit on any aircraft type
under STC
After
a major European airline installed the system on their fleet of A319 aircraft,
over 500 suspicious cases were detected which resulted in 350 successful prosecutions to
date.
